In late 2001, new private-sector provisions were introduced by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 to the Privacy Act 1988. At Bond Recruitment we are committed to protecting your personal information according to the National Privacy Principles ('NPPs') contained in the Privacy Act.
Bond’s Approach
When you respond to our job advertisements which appear either on our website or in the media, you know that you are doing so with the knowledge that we will only use your personal information for the purposes of placing you in employment and will manage your information ethically and legally. Personal information means information concerning you and your employment history, and may include your contact details, references, opinions about your work experience or performance and any other information obtained by Bond Recruitment in seeking to place you in appropriate employment.
How personal information is collected
Bond Recruitment collects candidate information when you submit an application; when you undertake an interview with a consultant, and each time we have contact with you. The personal information collected from you at the time of your application for employment and initial interview is assumed by Bond Recruitment to be accurate, complete and up to date. If at any time you believe this personal information is no longer accurate, complete or up to date please advise us accordingly. Bond Recruitment will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information we consensually disclose to a potential employer or other third-party is accurate, complete and up to date.
Distributing & Sharing Personal Information
Bond Recruitment is committed to protecting the privacy of our candidates and clients and will ensure that information submitted to us is used only for the purposes agreed to. Personal information provided to Bond Recruitment by our candidates is used solely for the purpose of candidate career advancement. Prior to any candidate information being forwarded to clients, permission is sought directly from the candidate. With your permission we may approach your referees, former employers, work mates, professional and representative organisations and potential employers. Once registered as a candidate with Bond Recruitment we may email or mail relevant information in relation to assisting candidates in their job search.
Opting Out
Bond Recruitment also provides candidates with the opportunity to opt out of these types of communications. If a candidate chooses to receive communications of this type at the time of registration, but later decides they no longer want to receive them, they can simply contact Bond Recruitment and request to be removed from the circulation database.
Data security
We have taken reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse or loss or unauthorised access. We hold your personal information in computers and paper based files and other records. Premises are secured by security access and computer records are secured by password access. Our policy is to maintain your personal information for a period of 6 years after receipt. If you do not wish us to keep your personal information, please contact us in writing and your information will be shredded.
Accessing Information
A candidate has the right to request access to their file on our recruitment database. An administration fee may apply.
